This is a sources sought announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time. Potential sources and market availability information are sought for an enhanced fire control device/system for the Small Arms Fire Control System (SAFCS)to be used with the MK19, Mod 3 Grenade Machine Gun. The SAFCS is a fire control system that can be attached to the weapon without any special tools. SAFCS will increases the probability of hit (PH) over that attainable with the current system, out to the maximum effective range of the weapon (2200 meters), in both day and night environments. The SAFCS will also be capable of interface to, and operation on, the M2, .50 caliber heavy machine gun, and the .50 caliber, Long Range Sniper Rifle (LRSR). The SAFCS shall enable the gunner to accomplish all of the following functions. Detect Target Recognize Target Identify Target Measure Range Sense Non-Standard Environmental Conditions Compute Ballistic Solutions Provide Offset Aimpoint Have the ability to utilize the Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS) and future thermal imagers as the thermal sensor Interested parties should submit information describing the characteristics and capabilities of any existing hardware that is readily adaptable to the MK 19, and/or concepts that can be implemented through the adaptation/integration of existing components. Submissions should include any available pictures, illustrations, sample hardware, commercial price lists or estimated unit price, and should indicate when hardware meeting the above requirements will be available for delivery to the Government. This notice is a Market Survey and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government.
