Chemical Command intends to conduct negotiations with Simunition
Limited, 65 Sandscreen Road, Avon, CT 06001-0576 in anticipation of a
requirements type contract award under FAR Subpart 13.5 for the period
of April 2000 through September 2002 for FX marking round cases, both
colors blue and red, part numbers 5307070 and 5300432, respectively.
The government's best estimate for total amounts required over this
period of time is between 270 to 450 cases of the blue and 90 to 150
cases of the red. These items are to be used for the Army's Military
Operation in Urban Terrain (MOUT) Advanced Concept Technology
Demonstration (ACTD) program. Based on market research conducted during
February 1998, and practical application of items in the field since
that time, the Army's need is for this exact type of training
ammunition only. "Or equal" types of marking rounds are not going to be
considered. Simunition Limited is the sole manufacturer of these
marking rounds. The standard industrial code for this procurement is
3482. The small business size standard is 1000. This acquisition is not
set aside for small business. The request for quotation (RFQ)
DAAD16-00-T-0046 will be available on or about 1 March 2000 at the
following World Wide Web address: http://www3.natick.army.mil.
Quotations will be due within 10 calendar days of issuance of the RFQ
on the World Wide Web; inquiries regarding this acquisition shall be
