38 -- DRILL BIT SOL No solicitation DUE 033000 POC Joyce Slagle/Contracting Officer, 410-278-3423 FAX: 410-278-2980 The RD&A Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is seeking to identify potential sources who manufacture or can provide technology developments for percussion or hammer drill bits (cross-bit or button-bit). Equipment must be capable of meeting the following general requirements with commercially available equipment or equipment that can be readily modified under standard commercial business terms and conditions. Bits must create at least 2-inch diameter holes through rebar reinforces concrete structures with minimal loss of speed (speed of cut outweighs bit longevity or cost); have fixed ports; have 1-1/4 inch steel connection rope (rope & drill may be permanently attached). Rotary bits of smaller diameter if capable of significantly faster cutting speeds will be considered. This notice is in no way to be construed as a solicitation; no solicitation exists; however, all responses received by the government by the response deadline will be reviewed to determine which firms have equipment that meet or exceeds the foregoing requirements.
