This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number RFQ EASC 00-77 is issued as a request for quotations (RFQ). This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. The solicitation has been set-aside 100% for Small Businesses. The SIC code 3572. Disk Storage Subsystem. A large disk storage is required for on-line access to climate data stored in an ORACLE database. The Disk System Requirements and Performance Criteria are as follows: Total Storage is expected to be between .5 TB and 1.5 TB, cabling shall be least 6 meters in length, menu driven or GUI software management of disk storage, redundant power supply, cabinet or 19" rack mountable trays, RAID-5 capable with "hot" spares, raw logical volume transfer rate (using I/O STAT)shall perform 25 MBps READ, and 20 Mbps WRITE operations, multi-channel capable, PCI, connection to IBM SP2 node running AIX 4.3.2., and single phase power no greater than 220 volts. The vendor shall provide a three (3) year warranty on all components and provide unlimited phone tech support. Storage device shall be demonstrated on an existing IBM SP2 node or test unit made available with the following requirements: at least 5 disk drives, 60 GB of storage and the system to be available for six (6) weeks for setup, test and evaluation.
