The Billings Area Indian Health Service (IHS) is requesting proposals in response to RFP-244-00-0007-REL to acquire Emergency Room Physician Services at the PHS Indian Health Center on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation, Lame Deer, Montana. The Northern Cheyenne Health Center is an 18 exam room clinic with a Level 3 Emergency Room that provides services to an average of 1300 patients per month. The Contractor shall provide coverage from 4:00 p.m., Friday to 8:00 a.m., Monday; including holidays. Coverage may be performed in 16-hour and 24-hour shifts upon prior approval by the Chief Medical Officer. The physicians shall be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, Internal Medicine (with knowledge in pediatric emergencies) or Pediatrics (with knowledge in adult emergencies). The physicians shall meet the same privileging requirements as permanent IHS physicians at Lame Deer before providing medical services in the IHS facility. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is required. The IHS anticipates the award of a requirements type contract for a base year with four renewal option years.
