14 -- PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE FOR SSST FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and PMA-208 will hold a Pre-Proposal Conference at the Veridian Office in Lexington Park, MD for the purpose of allowing an exchange of information between NAVAIR/PMA-208 and potential offerors for the Supersonic Sea Skimming Target (SSST) full and open competition. The SSST Pre-Proposal Conference will be held on 7 March 2000 from 0900 to 1300. Directions to the Veridian Office from Washington-Reagan National Airport (Washington, DC) are as follows: Depart National Airport southbound (towards Old Town Alexandria) via the George Washington Parkway. After approximately 8 miles, exit the George Washington Parkway for I-95 northbound (towards Baltimore). Almost immediately after entering I-95, you will cross the Potomac River via the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. Take the first exit after crossing the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and bear right for Indian Head Highway (Highway 210). Do not bear left as this will take you to I-295 north and back to Washington, DC. Proceed southbound on Indian Head Highway (Highway 210) for approximately 10 to 12 miles. Exit Indian Head Highway (Highway 210) onto Highway 228 and proceed east to Waldorf, MD (approximately 8 miles). Proceed straight across the intersection of Highway 228 and Highway 301. Highway 228 will become MD Route 5 once you cross the intersection. Proceed on Route 5 for approximately 19 miles to the point where Route 5 turns off to the right to go to Leonardtown. The Halfway Restaurant is at this interchange. Proceed straight ahead at this intersection and the road will become Highway 235. Proceed down Highway 235 for an additional 17 miles until you arrive in Lexington Park. As you proceed down Highway 235 towards Lexington Park, you will start to pass through a series of stoplights. The last light before Exploration Drive and the turn off for Veridian has a McDonalds on the left, a Roy Rodgers and a Taco Bell on the right, and the crossing street is MacArthur Boulevard. Continue southbound for 1 mile on Highway 235, and you will come to the next traffic light which only has a right turn. Turn right onto Exploration Drive. Veridian's office is approximately 100 yards in front of you across the pond. Please note that Exploration Drive is more hazardous than the surrounding streets in icy weather. The building number is 22309 Exploration Drive. Please park in the visitor parking area in front of the building (between the pond and the building are approximately 60 parking spots designated for visitors). The primary focus of the conference will be to provide instructions on the preparation of cost proposals; however, questions from offerors will be addressed.
