ORIGINAL REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO 15 MARCH
2000, AND CLARIFY SUBJECT FOR THE CBD SUBMISSION. THE ORIGINAL REQUEST
FOLLOWS: This publication is a sources sought synopsis, which will be
utilized as a market research tool. If you are interested, please
respond to this inquiry by close of business 10 March 2000. The
Government may have a need to purchase approximately 500 Pulse Jet
Systems (PJS) modification kits to support a foreign military sales
(FMS) requirement. However the Government may entertain a solution for
the U.S. Army's tank fleet as well. The Pulse Jet System (PJS) is a
self-cleaning air intake filter, designed to let a pulse of air clean
the main engine air filter to allow continuous operation of the
M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tank engine in adverse sand and dust conditions. The
PJS Mod Kit that will be procured consists of five subkits: 1) Vehicle
Mod Kit, NSN: 2940-01-434-7200, P/N: 57K2928; 2) Engine Mod Kit, NSN:
2940-01-434-4202, P/N: 57K2929; 3) Powerpak Mod Kit, NSN:
2835-01-434-4952, P/N: 57K2933; 4) Left Oil Cool Fan Mod Kit, NSN:
2940-01-434-4201, P/N: 57K2949, and 5) Hull Networks Box Mod Kit, NSN:
6110-01-434-4955, P/N: 57K2934. The purpose of this notice is to
identify and establish initial interest and points of contact from
private industry. This information may be used to prepare a bidders
mailing list and design acquisition strategy to include socioeconomic
program support. It may also help to identify/establish commercial
practices available to the Government. Any responses to this notice
should include the following: Company Name, Point of Contact, Address,
Telephone and Fax Numbers, E-Mail address, Brief Description of
Company/Capabilities, Experience Areas, Size, History, Duns Number,
Cage Code and/or Tax ID Number, and Large/Small Business Category.
Include any suggestions on what your firm would consider standard
commercial practices. Provide any supporting information such as
commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, etc. No solicitation will
be issued at this time. Participation in this effort is strictly
voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the U.S.
Government. The U.S. Government will in no way be obligated to purchase
all or part of the items described above, and is providing this
information as "general" information only. The U.S. Government will in
no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued.
