number 426911 originally posted on February 22, 2000. The following
information is provided to clarify the original notice based on written
questions received by this office and to increase quantities for
specific items. As a reminder, submission 427402 is a combined
synopsis/solicitation issued in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 and
this announcement constitutes the only solicitation and there will be
no release of a "bid package". This is a firm fixed price requirement
for the following detailed revised list of equipment and services.
Contract Line Item (CLIN) 0001: One each (1) base station (brand name
or equal to Motorola CDM 1550). Salient features of this item is that
it shall have a 110v power source; 25 Watt; 128 channels; full band VHF
frequency range of 136-174 MHz; alpha numeric display; able to scan at
least 16 channels; tone operated channel guard; computer base
programmable with microphone; 12.5/25kHz switchable channel spacing.
This base station is not replacing an existing system; however, there
is an antenna in place at the facility where it will be installed. The
antenna in place is compatible with the Motorola CDM 1550. CLIN 0002:
Twenty-four (24) each computer base programmable hand-held radios
(brand name or equal to Motorola HT 1250 w/o keypad). Salient features
of the required radio are full band VHF frequency range 136-174, 128
channels; 12.5/25 kHz switchable channel spacing; 16 channel duel
priority scan; alpha numeric display; includes an antenna. CLIN 0003:
Twenty-four (24) each remote speaker microphone (noise canceling) for
the hand held radios. CLIN 0004: Forty-eight (48) each ultra-high
capacity batteries for the hand-held radios. CLIN 0005: Twenty-four
(24) each adapter cords that will connect the hand-held radios to the
firefighters' Saxon 200m/us (brand name or equal to the adapter/product
offered by Intersperic, Inc. 31 Business Park Drive, Branford, CT
06405, 800 468-7799). CLIN 0006: Twenty-four (24) each 110v single unit
rapid chargers for the hand-held radios. CLIN 0007: Twenty-four (24)
each water and fire protective cases for the hand-held radios. CLINS
0008 through 0011 comprise four intercom systems for use by the
firefighters, and each intercom system has at least five stations. CLIN
0008: Four (4) each firefighter intercom systems (brand name or equal
to the Fire Com 3025). Each system must accommodate a minimum of five
stations/positions: driver, crew chief, jump seat 1, jump seat 2, and
pump panel. All stations must be able to talk back and forth and hear
all radio transmissions with digital message recorder and be able to
record inbound radio messages and memos. CLIN 0009: Sixteen (16) each
headset plug-in modules/jack with cables (brand name or equal to Fire
Com HM-10). These headset plug-in modules/jacks shall allow a
firefighter to easily connect to the intercom system. CLIN 0010: Four
(4) each water resistant headset plug-in modules (brand name or equal
to Fire Com PP-20). CLIN 0011: Eighteen (18) each under-the-helmet
headsets with radio transmit (brand name or equal to Fire Com UH-10).
Salient features of this headset is under helmet design that provides
for fit and feel and meet NFPA 1500 standards and reduce ambient noise
to 24dB. The driver must also be able to move his head set to the pump
panel station and transmit over the radio. CLIN 0012: Nine (9) each
vehicle radios (brand name or equal to Motorola CDM 1550) with 25 watt,
at least 128 channels, full band VHF frequency range of 136-174 MHz,
alpha numeric display, able to scan at least 16 channels, tone operated
channel guard, computer base programmable with microphone, 12.5/25 kHz
switchable channel spacing, must have the same options as the base
station and be able to interface with the Fire Com (or equal) intercom
system. These vehicle radios are intended to be installed in four MACI
2500L Ameritech fire trucks, four Chevy Trucks and one Freightliner
Tractor. CLIN 0013: Two (2) each hand held radio interfaces (brand name
or equal to the Fire Com HH-10). CLIN 0014: Two (2) each mobile
antennas with L-bracket and cable. CLIN 0015: One (1) job, purchase and
installation of the required software and/or hardware necessary to
program the radios. CLIN 0016: One (1) job, programming all frequencies
on the base station, nine (9) vehicle radios and twenty-four (24) hand
held radios after delivery to Fort Harrison. CLIN 0017: One (1) job,
training to include at least four hours of hands-on training to
firefighters at Fort Harrison required to program/use the radios. This
item shall be scheduled after delivery and installation of the radios,
but not later than 5 May, 2000. Firm fixed price quotes shall be
itemized and reflect prices on all items above, to include shipping to
the destination. Include all product specifications, a complete
description of the warranty and replacement provisions, training and/or
customer support available. Delivery of all equipment is required not
later than 14 April, 2000. Evaluation of quotes will be based on the
same factors stated in the original notice. Vendors are again requested
to submit past performance information, including points of contact.
The Contracting Officer reserves the right to make multiple awards as
a result of this combined synopsis/solicitation. Installation of all
equipment will be contracted separately. Quotes must be sent in hard
copy, NO FAXED quotes will be accepted, to USPFO, Purchasing and
Contracting, 1 Mitchell Way, Helena, Montana, 59601 or P.O. Box 1157,
Helena, Montana 59624-1157 no later than 10 March, 2000. Award will be
