This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)and in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase One (1) Nd:YAG Particle Image Velocimetry type laser system that meets the following minimum requirements: 1) System shall have two laser cavities in one head. 2) Each beam shall have an output power of at least 120 millijoules matching each other within 5%. 3) Beams shall be frequency-doubled to emerge at 532 nanometers. 4) Both beams shall have the same diameter and shall have the same divergence which shall not exceed 600 microrad. 5) Pulse duration of each beam shall be less than 8 nanoseconds. 6) The two beams shall be combined to become colinear. 7) The system shall have a remote controlled variable optical attenuator prior to exiting laser head. 8) The system shall permit external synchronization via Transistor Transistor Logic (TTL) trigger inputs. 9) Use closed-loop cooling 110 VAC and less than 20 Amp. power supply. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-15. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3829 and 500, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to NASA Ames Research Center, Attn: Receiving Section, Bldg. 255, Moffett Field CA 94035-1000 is required No Later than April 26, 2000. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the laser system described above are due by 2:00 P.M.
