NASA/DFRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for P/N 170-12690/Tornado Professional for Solaris (1 each); P/N 130-1429-NN/Tornado Professional Support Contract (1 each); P/N 170-12938/VxWorks OEM License: Motorola 680X0 (1 each); P/N 130-12842/VxWorks OEM Support Contract (1 each) ; P/N 170-12974/VxWorks Additional OEM License: Mot/IBN (1 each); P/N 130-12842/VxWorks Additional OEM Support Contract (1 each). This procurement will be conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/DFRC intends to purchase these items from Wind River Systems, Incorporated, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)). Wind River Systems, Incorporated is the sole developer and provider for these items. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 16, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
