This serves as "Notice of Intent" to issue a purchase order under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures to the IBM Corporation on a sole source basis to purchase a standard cpu capacity upgrade. The upgrade will take a current IBM 9672/R14 to an RB5. The upgrade will include the standard RB5 2Way Processor, an integrated cryptographic coprocessor with Triple DES and PKA security, and four gigabytes of memory. Also included will be an internal ATM open systems adapter configurable in four modes of operation. The pricing for these items is taken exclusively from IBM GSA Schedule (GS-35F-4984H). All interested parties who believe they can meet these requirements should submit in writing a substantive statement specifying their ability to meet the requirements. All responses must be in writing. No solicitation document exists, therefore a request for solicitation documents shall not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based on responses to this notice issolely within the discretion of the Government. Responses received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
