The Mines, Demolition, and Grenades office of the Munitions Armament
Center (MAC) is conducting a market survey of industry to identify
potential sources for the manufacture of the MK143 demolition charge.
The MK143 demolition charge is a low hazard flexible linear shaped
charge (Explosive Cutting Tape-ECT) designed to produce a linear
cutting action in various applications where remote, fast and reliable
cutting of obstacles and other targets is required. The technical
requirements for this item are defined by a government technical data
package referenced by NSN 1375-01-328-5796. A respondent to this survey
should be able to show that they have adequate technical and
manufacturing capability in the explosives industry, in addition to
good past performance, that would qualify them as a competitor for this
item. A respondent to this market survey must have available
facilities, personnel, and the production capacity to be able to
manufacture the subject item. If a respondent does not have adequate
resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the
respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those
resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the
services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or
subcontractors must also meet this criteria. A follow-up questionnaire
and/or an on-site visit may be required from survey respondents.
Interested companies who feel they have the necessary manufacturing
capabilities should respond by providing the government a brief summary
of the company's capabilities, including a description of facilities,
personnel, and past manufacturing experience as it relates to the above
criteria. Also, request that you provide minimum and maximum monthly
production rates for this item. Information shall be submitted within
15 calendar days fromthe date of this publication to: US Army
Operations Support Command, ATTN: AMSOS-MAP-MD, Frank A. Holley, Rock
Island, Il 61299-6000 This is a market survey for planning purposes
only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an
obligation on the part of the government. The government does not
intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or
otherwise pay for information solicited. The government will utilize
the information provided only to develop the acquisition strategy for
