COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 6,2000 PSA#2550WORLDWIDE CHEMICAL CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION XVII The U.S. Army Chemical
School, in conjunction with NDIA, will host the Worldwide Chemical
Conference & Exhibition XVII, June 19-23, 2000 at the U.S. Army
Chemical School on Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. The objective of this
conference is to provide all interested personnel from government,
industry, and academia a forum for the interchange of ideas related to
the protection of our forces and our nation from the effects of
nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. The theme of this year's
conference is "NBC Defense -- Forging the Future." The characteristics
of the current and future NBC threat to our armed forces is
continually evolving. It is no longer adequate to limit our focus and
efforts on protection of the force during major armed conflicts.
Because of the growing threat of terrorist and other non-traditional
uses of weapons of mass destruction, force protection considerations
are far more complex and extensive. We must now consider the entire
range of operations from home station pre-deployment, through force
build up and mission execution. Additionally, the scope of our support
can range from domestic preparedness, peace keeping, and treaty
compliance to traditional combat operations. Due to the continuing
proliferation of non-traditional NBC threats to our military forces as
well as the general population, we will focus on the measures needed
to provide force protection during the full spectrum of operations in
which our military forces may become involved. This conference provides
a unique opportunity for industry to receive first-hand information on
the programs and initiatives that are currently underway in this
growing field. Correspondingly, this meeting also provides U.S. and
allied military forces the opportunity to confer with the
firms/individuals involved in the NBC defense industrial base.
Classification level of the Worldwide Chemical Conference & Exhibition
XVII, will be UNCLASSIFIED-FOREIGN DISCLOSURE. Both industry and
government exhibits/displays will be available for review by all
attendees. WEB: Click here to learn more about this event,
