The work under this contract consists of general construction on and around four existing buildings at Sitka National Historical Park. Work at the Visitor Center (Package 106) is comprised of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical remodel work on an existing 7,300 square foot visitor center building and on an existing 3,000 square foot curatorial storage building. 3,000 square feet of new construction is to be built, primarily to infill between the existing two buildings. Site work includes replacing existing parking lot, sidewalks, and site utilities with new. Work at the Priest's Quarters and Old School (Package 101) consists of rehabilitation; including architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical upgrades to these existing historic buildings while respecting the historic setting of the Russian Bishop's House. These two structures are located on each side to the historic Russian Bishop's House. Moving of the Priest's Quarters from an adjacent lot to a new foundation is to be included in the work. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Construction work associated with both Packages 101 and 106 will be phased in order to minimize disruption of Park operations and to ensure completion of all construction work by October 1, 2001. The Request for Proposals (RFP) including plans and specifications will be available approximately 21 days from publication of this requirement. Requests for the RFP package must be in writing.
