10 -- TACTICAL RIFLE -- POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT SOL No solicitation DUE 040300 POC Linda White, Contracting Officer, 410-278-2998/FAX: 410-278-2980 The RD&A Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland is seeking to identify potential sources who can provide a tactical rifle that meets or exceeds the following requirements: 1)Action -- semiautomatic or bolt action repeater with detachable box magazine; 2) caliber -- any caliber up to and including 7.62mm and capable of a max effective range of at least 300 meters; 3) Stock -- the preferred stock for a bolt-action rifle would incorporate a folding or collapsible stock with aluminum pillars of blocks for action bedding. The stock shall break or fold to the rear of the action and accept Harris bipods; 4) Barrell -- 1:10 twist with match grade stainless steel subdued outside finish; 5) Scope Base -- Length of 10 inches with an 18 MOA forward slant cut to MIL-STD 1913 (Picatinny Rail inferface); 6) Magazine -- 5 round capacity; 7) Trigger -- jewel single stage set at 2.5 pounds; 7) Suppressor -- Detachable, stainless steel or titanium with a minimum dB reduction of 27 dB's whenfired with a "dry" suppressor; 8) Overall length of the rifle when disassembled shall be 29.5" or less; 9) Ammunition -- any caliber up to and including 7.62mm that achieves subsonic velocities and capable of at least 1 MOA accuracy with the given rifle.
