The Model 81-12 system is used at the Pirmasens facility to provide calibration support for DA Active and Medical RADIAC survey instrumentation used for day-to-day radiation safety by DA organizations, including hospitals and other medical facilities. The Model 150R track will replace a manually operated track now used with the system. Use of the Model 150R will increase productivity and enhance radiation safety by allowing technicans to operate the track from outside the radiation area. J.L. Shepherd and Associates is the only known contractor able to provide a track entirely electrically and mechanically compatible with the Model 81-12 system. See Numbered Note 22.
