E-MAIL: Sharon V. Hare, S.V.HARE@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Hardware and Software Maintenance for AMASS CERES Archive. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from ADIC for the Hardware maintenance and software maintenace which is the only known source. The hardware maintenance includes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for AML/J and 40002 Tape Drive Pair. The software maintenance includes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Archive Management Software and AMASS 300Slots. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 20, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government notto compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
