B -- CONTINUING STUDY OF WOOD STORK CONTAMINANT EXPOSURE AND NESTING SUCCESS SOL 401810Q061 POC Point of Contact -- Contact Jo Muratti, Contract Specialist Notice of Intent to award a follow-on sole source purchase order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures with the incumbent firm, Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL), P.O. Box Drawer E, Aiken, SC 29802, for an ongoing study to monitor the breeding success and contaminant levels in the endangered American Wood Stork (Mycteria Americana) nestlings from two colonies in coastal Georgia. Offeror shall observe and enumerate nests at each colony throughout the spring and summer and compare fledge success data between colonies and with historical data for both colonies. The Offeror must have demonstrated experience conducting this type of study in southeast U.S. Furthermore, the Offeror must obtain the necessary State and federal permits for collecting this species. This contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Offerors who can provide the required services should submit clear and convincing evidence in writing substantiating an ability to provide the services. Responses to this notice must be received in writing to the above address within 15 days of the date of publication of this synopsis. If no response is received, an award will be made to the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL). If a response is received that meets the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services' (USFWS) requirements and both an analysis of the technical and pricing documentation indicates that a competitive acquisition would be more advantageous to the USFWS, then a formal solicitation may be issued.
