CELL CANCER AMONG CAUCASIANS AND AFRICAN AMERICANS The Division of
Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics (DCEG), Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Program (EBP)and Human Genetics Program (HGP), of the National Cancer
Institute (NCI) is conducting a study to examine lifestyle,
environmental, and genetic factors that may contribute to the
increasing incidence rates of renal cell cancer in the United States
and to the greater excess of this cancer among African Americans. This
population based case-control study of renal cell cancer will be
conducted in areas of the United States with a high proportion of
African American residents. This contract will be for the Coordinating
Center that will furnish all necessary services, qualified personnel,
material, equipment and facilities not otherwise provided by the
Government under the terms of this contract, as needed to : 1) Develop
Study Materials such as Direct Interview Questionnaires, Next-of-Kin
Questionnaire, Computer Assisted Personal Interview System, Medical
Abstract Forms, Pathology Review Form, Introductory Letters and Consent
Forms; 2) develop a Data Management Plan/System for tracking the
progress of field data collection and data processing; 3) arrange
meetings and training sessions; 4) identify controls; 5) serve as a
data coordinating center for the study; and 6) perform quality control,
monitoring and documentation. This procurement is a new project which
is expected to cover a performance period of 60 months. The contract to
be awarded will be cost-reimbursement, completion type. All responsible
sources meeting these criteria are encouraged to submit an offer and
will be considered by the National Cancer Institute. It is anticipated
that the solicitation package will be available on /about March 24,
2000 with proposals due 30 calendar days after the issue date of the
RFP. Award is anticipated by September 30, 2000. No collect calls will
