sought Notice is issued by BWXT of Ohio, Inc., a contractor to the
Department of Energy (DOE) under prime contract DE-AC24-97OH20044 to
identify potential small business sources who are interested in
submitting a proposal to furnish the services of Radiological Control
Technicians, management, and other technical personnel to support the
BWXT of Ohio Radiological Control Organization. These individuals will
be responsible for the performance of professional level tasks to
include, but not limited to: monitoring the use of protective clothing
and equipment; post controlled and uncontrolled radiological areas;
response to contaminated personnel, support the ALARA program to
prevent or minimize internal and external exposure to radioactive
material; assist in the planning of radiological control work
activities; provide radiological support during preparation, packaging,
and shipment of radioactive materials; prepare radiological records in
accordance with ES&H procedures; perform daily routine swipes of
laboratory and work areas in designated areas of the facility; perform
release surveys of materials from the controlled areas to uncontrolled
areas; perform radiation, contamination, and airborne radioactive
surveys; perform radiation work permit and field implementation and
oversight; internal audits; development of technical procedures, and;
performance of all aspects of radiological work planning. Radiological
Control Technicians (RCT) must have successfully completed the DOE
"Radiological Control Technicians Training" course as evidenced by
achieving a passing grade on the DOE Core Academics examination. RCTs
must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in performing the
tasks outlined above. All furnished individuals must have completed the
forty (40) hour hazwoper training. Also the successful offerors must be
able to obtain a favorable Foreign Ownership, or Influence over
Contractor (FOCI) determination since certain individuals will be
required to have a DOE "Q" clearance. It isanticipated that two (2) to
three(3) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Task Order
Contracts will be issued. The Task Orders will be Time and
Materials/Fixed Price Labor Hour. The contracts will be for a base
period (October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001) with four (4) one
(1) year options. This procurement will be a small business set-aside
under SIC 8731, 500 employees. Companies interested in receiving a
Request for Proposal, which is scheduled for release in March 2000l,
should submit a letter of interest. This response is requested no later
than ten (10) calendar days following publication of this notice.
