Y -- NATO: CONSTRUCTION OF MEDICAL TREATMENT FACILITY ATA AVIANO AIR BASE, ITALY SOL N33191-98-B-1309 DUE 032700 POC Alexis Kemper (202-482-1512) The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean issues a NATO notice of intent for the construction of a medical treatment facility at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The general scope of work includes the interior renovation and alteration to an existing building of approximately 1080 M and the new construction for an addition of approximately 8,749 M to form a contiguous New Medical Treatment Facility with 20 bed capacity. The renovation and alteration work forth eexisting two story steel framed building will include some demolition and removal of existing construction, alteration of existing construction and some new construction. The New Addition is a three-story reinforced concrete frame and masonry structure. The roof of the New Addition shall be of clay tiles on water proofing membrane, insultation and steel decking and steel framing. The project will in clude all necessary Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electrical and Telecommunication installation. Site improvement works incluides but not limited to a new one story reinforced concrete electrical sub station, related exterior utilities, parking area,landscaping, grading and drainage. The project also includes the demolition of existing structures and buildings at the site. The demolition of the existing buildings will involve some asbestos material removal and disposal.
