E-MAIL: C. Tom Weih, C.T.WEIH@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a DRAFT Request for Proposal (DRFP) for Systems Analysis and Mission Support(SAMS)services. The services shall be performed at NASA, Langley Research Center. Services will be required in the following general disciplines (experimental, analytical and computational): full-spectrum aerodynamics, gas dynamics, fluid dynamics, aero-thermodynamics, acoustics, and aeroacoustics, metallic and non-metallic structures and materials, space and airborne systems. A cost-plus-award fee indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity task order contract is contemplated, with a period of performance of sixty months. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2001. Work will be assigned via performance-based task orders. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be conducted at Langley Research Center. Details will be included in the Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP). The procurement is a consolidation of two existing contracts, the Aerospace Research and Technology Support contract (NAS1-96014) with Lockheed andthe Systems Analysis and Engineering Research Support contract (NAS1-96013) with FDC/NYMA. The Statement of Work for those two contracts, along with all active tasks under the contracts, will be available in an electronic bidder's library. The DRFP will provide details about the bidders library. This DRFP will be issued pursuant to NASA FAR Supplement 1815.201. Comments are invited from potential offerors on all aspects of the DRFP, including the requirements, schedules, proposal instructions and evaluation approaches. Potential offerors are requested to identitfy unnecessary or inefficient requirements. The Government is not requesting proposals in response to the DRFP, does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to pay for any information received regarding this solicitation. Any final RFP for the requirement covered by this DRFP will include a summary of the disposition of significant DRFP comments.
