W -- LEASE OF VEHICLES SOL 0A-4132 DUE 032000 POC Sandra Souders, (301) 713-0854 W -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/NOAA/NOS/Navigation Response Branch has a requirement for the leasing of four (4) heavy duty pick-up trucks. The Government anticipates entering into a 36 month lease agreement during a three year period with the issuance of a purchase order for the first twelve months and months 13-36 subject to the availability of funds. The required heavy duty pick-up trucks will be used to haul boats and trailers, weighing as much as 9600 pounds, from northern locations to southern locations, and vice versa, every six months. These trucks will be used on average of 20,000 miles per year. Delivery of the trucks is expected to be: Two (2) each to Detroit, Michigan and New York City, New York. The contractor must provide heavy duty pick-up trucks that meet the following Requirements/Specifications: extended cab; dual rear wheels; minimum 11,000 pound GVWR; maximum trailer weight capacity of 12.300 pounds (rating for fifth wheel hitch type); GCWR rating of 19,000 pounds; 6.5' pickup box preferred; 3.55 -- 4.10 rear axle ratio; 8.0L V-10 gasoline engine; 4 speed automatic transmission; air conditioning; front license plate bracket; trailer towing package which includes class IV receiver hitch, transmission cooler, wired for standard 7-wire Bargeman connector, mirrors -- dual 7X10, wide mount; minimum 35 gallon fuel tank; minimum 136 ampere alternator; 750 amp maintenance free battery; heavy duty front and rear shock absorbers; full size spare tire; rear bumper with step pad; sound system -- AM/FM stereo/cassette/4 speakers. Offerors who can provide vehicles that meet the specified requirements/ specifications are invited to submit proposals along with information documenting their ability to meet the requirements/specifications.
