Central Regional Office plans to issue Solicitation IFB #50703-4052
for the demolition of nine buildings in four phases; provide general
construction; removal and abatement of asbestos and lead-based paint
materials, bird biomass and bird/mammalian fecal remains; site
clearing, backfilling, compaction, and earthwork/regrading of the site
after the demolition and removal of the existing buildings, to be
accomplished at the Federal Correctional Institution El Reno, Oklahoma
located approximately 35 miles West of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Construct new sidewalks; rework existing site paving; temporary
vehicular sallyports within the secure perimeter fence for construction
access to the work in all phases. Construction of temporary security
fencing around the construction limits of each phase of demolition.
Removal or replacement of temporary security fencing between phases to
accommodate the new construction limits. Selective demolition of
utilities located on site and within the existing utility tunnels.
Selective demolition and removal of site electrical items in addition
to improvement of the medium voltage distribution system with the
addition of new 15K loop feed switches, transformers, and panel boards.
Relocation of the communication lines due to demolition. Partial
demolition, repair or modification of existing utility tunnels.
Incidental new construction to repair or connect building elements
after demolition of adjacent construction. Hydro-mulch, re-seeding and
planting of grass areas disturbed during construction and demolition.
The successful contractor will be required to furnish all labor,
equipment, and materials to complete the work. The magnitude of this
project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The period of performance
is 1,095 calendar days. The solicitation will be available on or about
March 24, 2000 with an anticipated bid opening date of April 26, 2000
at 2:00 p.m. (local time) in the front lobby at the Federal
Correctional Institution El Reno, Oklahoma. All requests for the
