These items will be installed within the AEGIS program generation suite of computers to support the AEGIS Computer Center (ACC) AEGIS computer program Lifecycle Support Engineering Agent (LSEA) and fleet delivery mission. The AEGIS Baseline 5 and 6 computer programs are developed by Lockheed Martin utilizing the Sony Optical drives with Instar optical drivers. The sole source nature of this procurement derives from the requirement to maintain compatibility (equipment and applications) with the developers and the AEGIS fleet to ensure the AEGIS Computer Center (ACC) can support its lifecycle support engineering mission and deliver quality AEGIS computer programs to the fleet.
