D -- MAINTENANCE OF PROPRIETARY COMPUTER ASSOCIATES INTERNATIONAL SOFTWARE PRODUCTS POC Douglas Redding, Contracting Officer, 202-307-1962 The Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, with Computer Associates International, Inc. (CAI) to modify Contract Number 97-C-0046 for maintenance of currently licensed, proprietary CAI products based on a MIPS plan. The CAI products are currently installed at the DOJ Data Centers in Rockville, MD and Dallas, TX. The modification will provide for future upgrades to the MIPS ceiling for licensed proprietary CAI programs under the contract. The modification will also add maintenance of currently licensed programs of the former Platinum Technologies company commencing March 31, 2000. Finally, the modification will increase the contract ceiling to add maintenance of currently licensed products that are acquired by CAI in the future. As a result of the modification, the current monetary ceiling of the contract will be increased by $3,600,000 to $18,669,038. The procurement will be conducted under other than full and open competition under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). No solicitation is available since DOJ intends to negotiate a contract modification with CAI.
