The Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center(CTHVAMC) expects a sole source award of a firm fixed price contract to McKesson Automated Healthcare (MAH). Contract will be from date of award through September 30, 2000 with four single year options. The contract will provide for on-site activities associated with packaging of medications for the MAH ROBOT-Rx, an automated medication dispensing distribution system owned by the CTHVAMC and operated at the CTHVAMC Phoenix, Arizona. Basic services shall consist of accomplishment of over-wrap and bulk packaging services by contractor furnished personnel who are qualified and trained in these services. Service will also include monitoring and management of off-line inventory levels for picking by the ROBO-Rx. Additional services involve coordination of the maintenance program for the ROBOT-Rx packaging unit and other associated contract duties. Following the guidelines outlines in FAR Parts 12 and 13, it is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued as a Request for Quote for acquisition of a commercial item. The applicable SIC code for this procurement is 7389 and shall a non-restricted action. The anticipated issue date of the RFQ is o/a 03-10-00 with a proposal due date o/a date of 03-25-00.
