David_A._Ritter@hud.gov. This procurement is nonrestrictive and will be
a Full and Open Competition. The Department will procure contract
services to obtain quick -- response research of the highest quality on
housing finance, macroeconomic, and housing market issues of major
importance for the Department. The Government anticipates award of an
Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC). Task orders issued under this IQC
will cover a broad range of economic and finance topics related to
housing and mortgage markets and the effects of specific programs and
policies in these markets. Task orders may take many forms, from
primary research on the qualitative and quantitative impacts of a
proposed program or market innovation, to an overview of the housing
finance research agenda by leading experts in the field. Overall, the
research requested under the IQC will be used to assist Departmental
and Administration decision makers in evaluating and formulating
housing finance programs. The period of performance wil be five (5)
years. The Government anticipates multiple awards. The Request For
Proposal release date will be on or about April 5, 2000. Offerors may
obtain a copy of the solicitation by submitting a written request along
with two (2) self-adressed labels to the above address. No fax requests
will be accepted. HUD posts all required notices of its contracting
opportunities on its Internet Home Page Contracting Opportunities site
as indicated at the end of this notice. Potential offerors who
