The USDA Forest Service intends to contract for Professional Civil Engineering Services on an as needed basis for a one year period with option to renew for multiple years. Services required may include geotechnical investigations and tests; landscape architect advice; survey and design of various projects such as utilities, minor land survey work; establishing construciton controls; construction quality control; project implementation advice; condition inspections and ratings of bridges; preparation of plans, right of way plats, specifications and cost estimates; and other Civil Engineering work typically performed on a National Forest. The projects may be located throughout the National Forests in the eastern part of Region One. Respondents should include the following specific information: a) specific qualifications and the degree of involvement that key individuals will to devote to the work; b) types of field and office equipment as well as the size and number of survey crews, technicians, and Professional Engineers the firm is capable of mobilizing (both internally and through subcontracting), anticipated production rates and other factors affecting ability to complete the work; c) experience in performing civil enineering work on a diverse national forest; d) specific methods the firm will employ to minimize response time and travel costs while satisfying the Forest Service's Civil Engineering needs; e) specific experience working in terrain similar to that found on the National Forests and knowledge of the general locality of the Forests by key individuals.
