AIR/FUEL RATIO CONTROLLERS FOR GAS POWERED INTERNAL COMBUSION ENGINES The Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program, in existence since 1995, is administered by the US Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development. It is funded by Congress in response to the belief that there are many viable environmental technologies available that are under utilized due to the lack of credible third-party performance testing. Southern Research Institute operates one of 12 ETV Organizations, the Greenhouse Gas Technology Verification Center (the Center), in partnership with EPA's Air Pollution Prevention and Control Division. The mission of the Center is to provide third-party performance verification to vendors and others that need reliable performance information on commercially available greenhouse gas mitigation technologies and emission montoring devices. The Center is currently accepting applications from candidates wishing to submit technologies for performance testing. Vendors or others with technologies that fit the following category are welcomed to apply for independent third-party verification testing: air to fuel ratio controllers for lean burn internal combustion engines. Performance parameters to be verified include fuel savings, emission rates for NOx, CO, THC, and CO2, greenhouse gas emission reductions, and improvements in operational and maintenance requirements. Vendors are required to provide access to a facility where their technology is being utilized for the duration of the test. Vendors are also required to offset verification testing costs through cost sharing. Vendors with commercial air/fuel ratio controllers wishing to participate should complete and submit a test application (available on the Center's Web site at www.sri-rtp.com) or contract Sushma Masemore at the Center on (919) 806-3456.
