The work includes all labor, materials, equipment, supervision and management to Repair and recondition existing double hung windows and other window types, remove and replace some wood window sashes in building 1 / Luce Hall at the Naval War College, Newport, RI. The completion time for this basic requirement is 60 calendar days. There will be a provision for two bid options for similar work in two additional buildings. Option 1: Building 3, Mahan Hall, the work includes repair and reconditioning of windows. This option can be exercised at the time of award or within 30 days after award. If Option 1 is exercised the contract completion time will be extended by 30 calendar days. Option 2: Building 683, Spruance Hall, the work includes removal and replacement of insulated aluminum windows and sealants, removal of storm windows and sashes, blinds and related sealants. This option can be exercised at the time of award or within 30 days after award. If Option 2 is exercised the contract completion time will be extended by 30 calendar days. For all of the buildings, the existing wood framing and trim work that is scheduled to remain shall be painted, as well as affected walls and adjacent finishes. The project also includes the abatement of asbestos and lead paint materials and other incidental related work. Except when it is determined in accordance with FAR 17.206b no to be in the government's best interest, the government will evaluate offers for award purposes by adding the total price for the basic requirement. Evaluation of options will not obligate the government to exercise the option(s). This solicitation is issued as UNRESTRICTED. The standard industrial classification code (SIC) is 1751 and the size standard $7.0 million. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Davis Bacon Wages are applicable to this project. The ESTIMATED bid opening date is 26 April 2000. To obtain Plans and Specifications for this project there is a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE OF $19.00 .
