This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. IFB2000-4431-005 is being issued as an Invitation for Bid. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. Offerors are to provide prices for the following: Item No. 1 -- Flexsys Picking System Cat. # GEN2003, Item No. 2 -- Librarian (Rearraying) Conversion Cat.# GEN 12023, and Item No. 3 -- GeneTAC Hybridization Station Cat # HYB10001. The salient characteristics of the system are as follows: Item No. 1 -Flexys workstation with enclosure, image processing kit, picking tool 24 pin, computer and software, bioassay holder 22 x 22, fixture plate, microtitre plate holder, ultrasonic bath and heat lamp, bioassay holder small 10 x 10Cm, petri dish holder 100mm, petri dish holder 150mm, sterilization bath and brushes, compressor and air cleaner, installation and operator training, 1 year warranty. Item No. 2 -- Librarian (rearraying) conversion: librarian tool 24 pin, microtiter plate holders (3). Item No. 3 -- GeneTAC Hybridization Station: 12-position unit, peltier temperature control system, embedded 133 MHZ, 5x86 CPU w/ 3.5" drive, LCD touch-screen control w/software, RS232 to RS485 network converter, fluidics system for agitation and re-circulation, 5 solution/wash buffer bottles and 2 waste bottles, installation and operator training, 1 year warranty. Delivery of the equipment shall be made within 45 days after receipt of the contract order and will be delivered to USDA, ARS, MSA, Catfish Genetics Research Unit, Experiment Station Road, Stoneville, Mississippi 38776-0038.
