Laboratory has a requirement to acquire a Near Field Planar Scanner
Measurement System. The system will be used to make antenna pattern
measurements on various antenna systems by using the concept that an
aperture field close to the antenna contains all the information
required to determine the far-field pattern of the antenna under test.
The system must be comprised of commercial off the shelf products. The
Near Field Measurement System consists of a computer system that must
be a minimum of an 800 MHz Pentium III (or equivalent) operating under
Windows 98. The system will be installed in a pre-existing chamber
facility with temperature 70 degrees plus/minus 4% and humidity control
45% plus/minus 15%. The contractor shall train personnel in accordance
with the specification. Delivery of the Near Field Planar Scanner
Measurement system shall be 210 days from date of contract award.
Delivery of Options 1 through 3 shall be 210 days after exercise of
options, if exercised. The contractor shall install the system at the
Naval Research Laboratory. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated
for award. A detailed specification will be issued with this
solicitation. This requirement is a 100% set-aside. If adequate
interest is not received from SB concerns, the solicitation will be
issued as open to all business concerns. The solicitation and any
amendments to it will be available via the Internet at the URL address
