Duties are to be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution, Manchester, Kentucky. Duties include: provide optometry services to the inmate population, refractions, tonometry, eye examinations for abnormalities, referrals to ophthalmologist when appropriate, prescribing corrective lenses, and prescribing medications as allowed by law. Individual requirements include: being a graduate of an accredited school of optometry program, and possessing a current state of Kentucky licensure to practice optometry. Due to the nature of this contract, all individuals working within the confines of the institution will be required to submit to security clearances. This will be a competitive procurement with award being made to the offeror determined to be in the best interest of the Government with price and other factors considered. The base year will run for twelve months from the date of award with four (4) option periods for renewal. Anticipated date of award is June 14, 2000. It is anticipated this solicitation will be mailed approximately March 28, 2000 with an anticipated due date of April 27, 2000. It is anticipated that this solicitation will result in a Firm Fixed Price Requirements type contract. This requirement is 100% set-aside for small business concerns.
