NASA/KSC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for G2 Development Online, PN G2, consisting of: CD-ROM for an Intel based Windows-NT 4.0 machine (1 ea); G2 Starter Kit Windows, P/N KIT002-500 (1 ea); G2 Core Technology Kit, P/N KIT-500 (1 ea); G2 Utilities, P/N KIT900 (1 ea); Gensym Bronze Customer support, P/N CSS0001B. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Gensym Corporation, 3675 Crestwood Pkwy, Suite 400, Duluth, GA 30096, on a sole source basis. Only one source is available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on March 21, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
