Protection Agency's Region II Emergency and Remedial Response Division
desires professional and technical support services in the assessment
of contaminated or potentially contaminated sites including
Brownfields. Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or under-used industrial
and commercial facilities where expansion or redevelopment is
complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination. Under
this procurement, the contractor will assist the Agency in the site
assessment process which consists of the evaluation and the placement
of sites on the EPA National Priorities List (NPL) which is commonly
called the Superfund list. Technical support provided under this
contract may be performed at privately owned sites or federal
facilities, as specified by work assignment or technical direction
letter. It is anticipated that this will be a five (5) year competitive
cost-plus-fixed-fee contract. The total potential level-of-effort is
219,445 direct labor hours. The anticipated release date for the
Request for Proposals (RFP) is March 22, 2000. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) for this requirement is 8744, with a size
standard of 500 employees. The purpose of this CBD announcement is to
notify potential offerors of EPA's requirement, advise interested
parties of EPA's intent to shortly release the RFP, and to direct
interested parties to the EPA's "Doing Business with EPA" Internet
World Wide Web site (http://www.epa.gov/oam/srpod) for further
information on this procurement as it becomes available. The Source
List for this requirement is posted on the Internet at the same site.
Potential Offerors are requested to download the RFP and amendments
from this location, rather than requesting hard copies from this
office. The RFP, amendments, Source List and other related items for
this procurement will be posted on the Web site and can be downloaded/
viewed. Also posted on the Internet will be an ongoing status update
to inform interested parties of current information related to the
procurement. EPA does not anticipate printing copies of the RFP. Hard
copies of the RFP, amendments and other related items will not be
provided without written certification from the offeror that INTERNET
capability is unavailable. Interested parties must submit their written
