Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for processing and
disposal services for Low Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW). This
requirement includes processing and disposal of the following: 1. Metal
Melting for Beneficial Reuse, Ferrous Metals as: steel shot & wax, 2.
Metal Processing for Consolidation and Burial; Non-Ferrous Metals
containing Copper or Aluminum, 3. DAW, Drums for Compaction, 4. DAW,
Bulk for Compaction, 5. Aqueous Liquids for Incineration, 6. Oil for
Incineration, 7. Dewatered Bead Resin for Compaction, 8. Regulated
Liquid Scintillation Fluids for Incineration, 9. Activated Lead for
Macroencapsulation, 10. Air Filters for Compaction, 11. Uranyl Acetate
(natural uranium, solid form), and 12. Uranyl Nitrate (natural
uranium, solid form). A complete statement of work/specifications will
be included in the RFP. The Government anticipates making multiple
award requirements type contracts on a line item basis.
Shipping/delivery requirements will be included with each Order. The
Period of Performance is for a one year period from date of award, with
four optional one year periods. The first Order to be issued under the
contract will include one Type B cask shipment of a single Irradiated
Hardware Liner for disposal at the CNSI Barnwell, SC disposal
facility. Contractor to provide Type B cask, transportation, and waste
brokerage services. Requests for solicitation may be made via
