MARKET SURVEY: The Kansas City District Corps of Engineers is requesting comments from the construction community for the construction of a proposed barracks complex at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The K.C. District is planning to issue a best value Request for Proposal that would require a large business to partner/mentor with a small disadvantaged business (SDB). Two construction contracts are anticipated to be awarded. The construction project shall consist of A Whole Barracks Renewal Complex. The project at minimum shall include: A: 4-22,446SF / 72- man Barracks B:1-14,618 SF Soldier Community Building. (SCB) C: Site preparation, supporting utility systems, demolition and site improvements. Barracks shall include living/sleeping rooms with semi-private baths, walk-in closets, kitchenettes, bulk storage areas, day rooms and laundry facilities. The external construction includes outdoors recreational facilities parking lots, exterior lighting, utility extensions for gas, water, sanitary sewer, electrical, communications, fire protection, Intrusion detection systems (IDS) paving, walks, curbs, access roads, storm drainage, information systems, connections to an existing energy monitoring and control system (EMCS) and miscellaneous site improvements. The demolition of two buildings are included and shall be scheduled upon completion of the construction for the new facilities. Funds are not presently available for the project.
