Powell, Contract Specialist, (703) 632-1431 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity, Requirements type contract. The contract shall be for one base year plus four, one-year options. This contract shall be for the acquisition of .40 S&W caliber, jacketed hollow point "Service" and .40 S&W caliber, full metal jacket "Training" ammunition used for field enforcement and training of Special Agents. The Request for Proposal (RFP) Number 808226, will be issued in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Part 12-Commercial Items. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 3484 (NAICS 421990), the Small Business size standard is 1,000 employees, and is being conducted as an unrestricted procurement. Required ammunition specifications shall include, but are not limited to the following: 1) Cartridges utilize a 160 -- 180 grain bullet [165 grain bullet is preferred]; 2) Clean burning and operate in FBI weapons; 3) Shoot accurately fromFBI pistol barrels ; 4) Utilize sealed primers and bullets to prevent environmental degradation of components; 5) Be packaged in boxes of 50 rounds per carton and preferable case lots of 1,000 rounds; 6) Conform to the recommended dimensional and pressure standards of the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer's Institute and elsewhere as specified by the FBI; and, 7) Be warranted free of defects for a period of five years from date of purchase.
