The Pioneer UAV Program currently supports the Navy and Marine Corps by providing logisitics support to the fleet users. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis with Pioneer UAV, Incorporated, P.O. Box 738, Hunt Valley, Maryland 21030-0738. Pioneer UAV,Incorporated and Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI), Tel Aviv, Israel. AAI and IAI are the developers and sole suppliers of these Pioneer components. Therefore, Pioneer UAV, Incorporated is the only firm possessing the requisite technical expertise and data rights to produce these spare parts for the Pioneer UAV System. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
