The US Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center, is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with Kay Elemetrics to supply the Model 9295 Digital Video Stroboscopy System to be delivered to the Madison WI VA Hospital. This is considered to be a sole source because it is the only stroboscopy eqipment on the market that has a built-in report generator and database; synchronous electrographic (EGG) signals to ensure correct interpretation of images; built-in anti-blinking circuit to provide consistent brightness throughout the patient's voice and amplitude range; and built-in software for playback of two examinations side by side for pre- and post-treatment comparisons. Without these features, the VA would not, among other things, be able to make pre- and post-treatment comparisons simultaneously and the accuracy of comparisons would be significantly decreased.
