This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Twelve (12) Titanium Sapphire Laser Rods with the following specifications: Brewster cut (60 degrees); Faces parallel 10 mm diameter; optic axis length = 20mm. Figure of merit: >250; Doping concentration: 1.7 cm -1 at 514 nm. Surface quality: 20-10 scratch and dig. Damage threshold: must be >10 J/cm2 for a 10 ns pulse over a 3mm diameter pump aperature. Wavefront distortion: 1/10 wave or less at 632nm. Ti:Sapphire rods will be used with 500mJ of pulsed 532nm pump light and the Ti:Sapphire will generate >100mJ/pulse. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-15. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3356 and 750, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
