COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MARCH 16,2000 PSA#2558EXTEND PERFORMANCE PERIOD OF EXISTING A/E CONTRACT #263-95-C-0252 It is
the intent of the National Institutes of Health to extend the period of
performance of the existing contract to Maxim Technologies, Inc. to
allow for the operation of Phase 11A remediation action at the
Bitterroot Valley Sanitary Landfill (BVSL) "Groundwater Monitoring" in
Ravalli Count Montana. The existing contract (base and 4 option years)
expires at the end of calendar year 2000. The need for the 11A action
will require extension of that contract through the calendar year 2005
in the form of an additional five years. Due to the sensitive and
highly complex nature of the project, it is in the best interests of
the Government to maintain continuity of expertise through extension of
this contract. Maxim Technologies, Inc. has been associated with the
project since its inception and has amassed considerable knowledge of
the site and its environs. Maxim is responsible for the design and
construction of the Phase 11A pilot test facilities and full scale
implementation facilities. Maxim developed a transient groundwater
model which describes the transportation of contamination due to
volatile organic compounds in the groundwater of the Bitterroot Valley
Landfill. See Note 22 Posted 03/14/00 (W-SN434397). Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0452 20000316\SP-0003.MSC)
