The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a requirement for a contractor to provide Janitorial Services within SSA headquarters at the Altmeyer Building, 6401 Security Blvd., Woodlawn, MD 21235-6401. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract with four (4), successive, one-year options, if exercised. The anticipated period of performance is June 29, 2000 through June 28, 2001 for the basic period of performance; June 29, 2001 through June 28, 2002 for Option Period One (1); June 29, 2002 through June 28, 2003 for Option Period Two (2); June 29, 2003 through June 28, 2004 for Option Period Three (3) and June 29, 2004 through June 28, 2005 for Option Period Four (4). This acquisition has been set-aside 100 percent for 8(a) minority concerns in all stages of development. This acquisition has been approved for the 8(a) program by the United States Small Business Administration. Any responsible and certified 8(a) source may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. Offers receivedfrom other than an 8(a) business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this requirement is 7349. The size standard for this SIC code is $12.0 million. An 8(a) offeror must be an eligible participant in the 8(a) program for a specified SIC code on the date specified in the solicitation for receipt of proposals. This acquisition is determined to be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) regarding the acquisition of commercial items and will also be conducted under the test program for certain commercial items subject to FAR Subpart 13.5 regarding the application of simplified acquisition procedures. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses will be those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. A request for proposals, number SSA-RFP-00-0144, is scheduled for release on or about April 10, 2000, with proposals due no-later-than 30 calendar days thereafter.
