This project is to rehabilitate a historically significant residence on Ft. Monroe, VA. The structure comprises a basement, two primary floors and an attic. The total size of the structure is approximately 12,173 gross square feet. The work includes demolition, lead base paint removal, asbestos abatement, salvage of historic building materials, masonry repointing and repair, miscellaneous metal work, carpentry, repair of existing slate roofing with copper flashings, caulking and sealants, wood doors and windows, metal storm doors, rehabilitation of wood doors and windows, plaster, gypsum wall board, repair of wood flooring, carpet, resilient floors, paint and wall covering. Also included are plumbing, kitchen equipment, fire detection and alarms, thermal insulation, gas piping and heating, air conditioning, HVAC controls, interior electrical, minor amounts of exterior electric, lighting and incidental security and communications work. The contract duration is 330 calendar days. The magnitude of the project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format, free of charge to all registered planholders. The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation is compact disk and/or Internet. The solicitation will not be issued in paper format. Notification of amendments may be made by facsimile, floppy disk, compact disk and/or postings to the Internet. The media selected for solicitation amendments shall be solely at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, as separate notifications for each amendment may not be sent to planholders, bidders shall be responsible for monitoring the Internet for amendments.
