Principal feature is to stabilize two sites on the west bank of the Santa Cruz River. The work is situated on reservation land south of Tucson, Arizona in Pima County on the San Xavier District of the Tohono O'odham Indian Nation. The work will consist of preparing the embankment foundation, which will include removal of organic matter, scarifying, and compacting the in-situ material. Placing and compacting zoned materials to stabilize the exposed vertical river bank. The earth material designated as random fill will come from an on-site borrow area. Work associated with the borrow area will include: stripping/clearing the area of organic matter, temporarily stockpiling the stripped materials, excavating, and restoring the area. Restoration of the borrow area will include, contouring the pit to blend in with the surrounding area, and dispersing the stripped materials throughout the area. The remaining earth material needed to complete stabilizing the river bank will come from an off-site commercial source(s). This project is set aside for small business.
