ARDEC is looking for parties interested in the production of a
miniature reserve battery that will be a component in various Self
Destruct (SD) Fuzes. These SD Fuzes will be used on grenades produced
for both various artillery and mortars projectiles (M915, M864, XM982,
XM984, etc) and the Extended Range Multiple Launch Rocket System
(ER-MLRS). This battery must meet the following basic requirements: The
battery shall be cylindrical, approximately 0.2 inches in both length
and diameter. The battery shall be activated when stimulated by an
axial force of approximately 7.0 pounds. The battery shall provide the
following output when activated between -50 degrees F and +145 degrees
F: 3.7V minimum, 0.05uA minimum at 74K ohms, and 10 minutes minimum
operating time. The battery shall not activate when subjected to launch
setback of 23,000 G's, or a flight spin environment of 21,000 RPMs for
a minimum of 60 seconds. The battery shall remain operational after
experiencing a ground impact of15,000 G's while operting. The battery
shall have a 20 year shelf life. There is no delivery schedule
established at this time. All interested parties should provide a
summary of their company's capabilities including a description of
facilities, personnel, and previous experience in the miniature reserve
battery arena. This information is to be provided via email and
