prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as
supplemented with additional information included in the Request for
Quotation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and is
being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N00600-00-Q-1157
is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation. The Request for Quotation
document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) is 7338. The Request for Quotation is being issued
utilizing FAR 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government
anticipates to award a firm-fixed-price contract, base year with three
one year options. The Request for Quotation package will be issued on
or about April 03, 2000 with quotes due within 22 calendar days.

attention of Customer Service (202) 433-9569. This acquisition is
unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will
be considered by the Government The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center
(FISC), Norfolk Detachment Washington has a requirement to procure
commercial medical transcription services for the National Naval
Medical Center, Bethesda MD. There will be approximately 1.8 million
lines of transcription per year. Services includes typing of the
following: 1) Air-Evacuation Narrative Summaries, 02) Stat Dictations,
03) Transfer Narrative Summaries, Active Duty Narrative Summaries, 05)
Adolescent Psychiatric Narrative Summaries, 06) Medical Board Reports,
07) TDRL (Temporary Disability Retired List) Evaluations, 08) Routine
Narrative Summaries, 09) Operation Reports, 10) Pre-Cardiac
Catheterization Reports, 11) Cardiac Catheterization Reports, 12)
Pacemaker Placement Implantation Reports )13 Other Reports. Specific
requirements include the following: 1) the contractor shall have a
broad knowledge of the specialized vocabulary in medicine and surgery
2) the contractor should have a minimum of four (4) years of total
experience (gained within the last six years) with a comparable
facility in size and workload volume that meets or exceeds NNMC's daily
current volume of approximately 5,000 line per day 3) The contractor's
personnel shall have a minimum of three years medical transcription
experience (gained within the last four years). Each transcriptionist
must have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, have evidence of
on-going training regarding medical terminology, and have experience
typing the variety of reports required by NNMC. In order to provide
appropriate support to this facility, the contractor's place of
business should be within a seventy five-(75) mile radius of NNMC's
Bethesda MD location. Transcription services are required 24 hours per
day, 7 days a week, including holiday, and require immediate access to
contractor personnel by telephone (not answering service) during that
timeperiod. The contractor will provide all the necessary equipment and
supplies to accomplish said transcription on-site at the facility.
Contractors are required to meet the following subcontracting plan
requirement: 5%, Small Business Concern. Service is anticipated to
begin in May 2000. The SIC code for this requirement is 7338. The
specific services are described in the Statement of Work included in
the Request for Quotation. Please include your full company name, point
of contact, phone/fax numbers, business size, cage code, DUNS number
and Federal Tax ID number, and if CCR registered. NOTE: ALL VENDORS AND
PROSPECTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE CONTRACTORS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE
DoD CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR) DATABASE TO RECEIVE AWARDS
AFTER MAY 31, 1998. REGISTRATION MAY BE DONE ON-LINE AT
