United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health
Inspection Service, Internatinal Services, requires aircraft services
to suppport the Screwworm Program in Latin America and the Caribbean
for a period of up to five years, beginning October 1, 2000. Transport
flights will operate between Mexico, where the flies are produced, and
the bases of operation, currently in Panama City, Panama, and Kingston,
Jamaica. The initial requirement is for an estimated eight aircraft
with qualified pilots. Special purpose modifications will be required
for installation of the insect release machine and related equipment.
A preproposal meeting will be held in May to address any questions
arising from the solicitation, which will provide the details of the
time and place of the conference. The solicitation will be available
for downloading at the web site referenced below. For a hard copy of
the solicitation, submit written or faxed request stating name,
address, telephone number, and solicitation number. Fax request to the
Contracting Section at Area Code 612/370-2106. Telephone requests will
not be accepted. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will
be considered. A copy of the solicitation will be available in this
