006&LocID=1182. E-MAIL: Ouida Edwards, edwardso@eglin.af.mil. A sole
source procurement is contemplated with Dayron Corporation in Orlando
Florida. Dayron is the only known qualified source to perform this
effort. Procurement of a limited additional quantity of FZU-55/Bs and
associated cabling is necessary to support the increase in the
contractual requirement for additional FMU-152/B Joint Programmable
Fuzes (JPF). Dayron is the prime contractor for FMU-152/B fuze system
and has the only operable manufacturing capability for the FMU-152/B
JPF. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one
source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may
submit statements of capability (SOC) demonstrating their ability to:
(1) Demonstrate, through testing, a FZU-55/B capability which meets the
performance specification requirements; (2) Meet minimum acceptable
operational performance requirements; and (3) Perform the FZU-55/B
production and meet the required delivery schedule. Responses will be
evaluated based upon knowledge of the FMU-152/B fuze system and the
capability to deliver a qualified FZU-55/B within the required delivery
schedule. The closing date for submission of qualifications is 15 days
after date of publication of this notice. Interested sources should
contact Ms. Ouida A. Edwards, AAC/WGK, 102 West D Avenue, Suite 300,
Eglin AFB, FL 32542-6808, (850) 882-8515, extension 2007. For further
information on this synopsis concerning technical questions, contact
Joe Renshaw at extension 3204. An ombudsman has been appointed to
address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the
proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not
diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer,
but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and
recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When
requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the
source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the
evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Interested
parties are invited to call Mr. Mario Caluda, at (850) 882-5558 or
e-mail: caluda@eglin.af.mil. See numbered Note 26.***** Posted 03/17/00
